Wend: Four Hidden Words, Every Letter Used ๐ค
Published: August 10, 2026 ยท 4 min read
Wend looks like a word search and plays like a logic puzzle. Four words are hidden in the grid, traced as winding paths through adjacent tiles โ and crucially, every tile in the grid belongs to exactly one of them.
The rules
Drag through adjacent letter tiles to trace a word. Paths can turn in any direction, including diagonally, but can't reuse a tile. Find all four words to clear the level.
You're told how many words there are and how long each one is. You're not told what they are.
Why "every tile" is the real clue
This is what separates Wend from a word search. In a word search, the leftover letters are filler. Here there is no filler โ the four words tile the grid exactly.
Which means: after you've found two words, the remaining letters are the complete raw material for the other two. A stray Q in the corner with only a U next to it tells you a great deal. And once three words are down, the fourth isn't a search at all โ it's the only path left through the remaining tiles, and you can often read it off backwards.
The practical strategy is to hunt for unusual letters first. J, X, Z, Q and V each appear in comparatively few words, and their neighbours constrain the path immediately.
About our version
99 levels with grids that grow and words that get less common as you climb. Unlimited retries, a hint that reveals a first letter rather than a whole word, and no timer โ this is a game to chip away at, not to race.
It runs in your browser, works offline once loaded, needs no account, and costs nothing.
Questions people actually ask
Can word paths go diagonally?
Yes. A path may move to any of the eight neighbouring tiles, and may turn as often as it likes. It just can't reuse a tile.
Do all the letters get used?
Every tile in the grid belongs to exactly one of the four words. There are no filler letters, which is exactly why the last word is deducible rather than searchable.
